Common and widely-used in the creation of plastics and rubber, styrene monomer is in fact the largest petrochemical intermediate market until now. A significant amount of styrene monomer is polymerized to polystyrene. Other products of styrene monomer are co-polymers such as styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), as well as tyrene- acrylonitrile resin (SAN) and unsaturated polyester resins.
